The list of tracks on the new Jez Lowe compilation CD “Heads Up” has been posted on the latest issue of his monthly newsletter. The album is set for release in early October, but it can be pre-ordered via the SHOP page on this website. Tracks are – OLD BONES, BACK IN DURHAM GAOL, A SMALL COAL SONG, FATHER MALLORY’S DANCE, DOVER DELAWARE, HIGH PART OF THE TOWN, LONDON DANNY, THESE COAL TOWN DAYS, THE BERGEN, GALLOWAYS, YANKEE BOOTS, BLACK DIAMONDS, GREEK LIGHTNING, YOU CAN’T TAKE IT WITH YOU, LAST OF THE WIDOWS and three “bonus tracks”, WE’LL HUNT HIM DOWN, MY BLOOD and THE SIMIAN SON. The main part of the album focuses on older songs that are no longer available on CD, with some original recordings, a few new live recordings, and one brand new recording (OLD BONES). The bonus tracks feature a live recording of WE’LL HUNT HIM DOWN (not from the original Darwin Project album), a new recording of MY BLOOD, that Jez wrote with Canadian singer James Keelaghan, but here featuring Vin Garbutt on duet vocals, and a new mix of the Hartlepool Monkey song THE SIMIAN SON, based on the version that has been available as a down-load only for the last year or so. The album also includes several tracks licenced from Fellside Records, taken from Jez’s early albums, and that have been unavailable for more than ten years.
