Aug 1st 2016 – News Round Up

Sidmouth PicJez was at Sidmouth Fest in Devon last weekend, where he told audiences that his new collaboration album with Steve Tilston will be released in November, and that it will consist of all new songs written by the pair, a most exciting prospect. A special “album launch” concert will likely be scheduled at some point, and the duo’s next appearance together is at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival on August 16th, which will include a preview of some of the songs from the new album…

Jez shared the stage on Sunday with fellow-Pitmen Poet Bob Fox, in a ninety minute concert of “songs from the coal miner’s songbook”, which is already being described as one of the highlights of the festival…

Also coming up this month is a concert at Whitby Folk Festival, at the Spa Theatre on August 21st, featuring songs from the “Ballad of Child Migration” album, for which Jez contributed four tracks… There’s an extra date on Jez’s solo tour of Canada in October – he’ll be at The Rogue in Vancouver on Wednesday 19th…

Listen out for interviews that Jez gave at Sidmouth with Bev Harris for Brooklands Radio and with Hamish Burgess for the Maui Celtic Radio Show in Hawaii, both due to be broadcast soon…

Jez has also just done an interview with Australian music magazine “Rhythms” to be published to coincide with his tour down-under, that starts on September 23rd at Kiama Festival in New South Wales.
