Bad Pennies Christmas Shows!… Jez interviews on-line… Broonzies LIVE!

The Bad Pennies play two regular shows this week – at Dartford on Tuesday 25th and Cottingham on Wednesday 26th, followed by solo gigs by Jez at Nether Edge in Sheffield on Friday, and Stockton on Monday – then the annual Christmas tour starts at Kirkby Malzeard near Ripon, Yorkshire on December 4th. This year’s show is titled “Cauld Feet Again, Pet!”, and features singer Benny Graham as special guest as usual. The first part of the tour will feature former Bad Penny Simon Haworth on bass, then regular bassplayer David De La Haye rejoins the band on December 17th at Bishop Auckland Town Hall. The Christmas gigs inevitably features mostly new material written and/or rehearsed especially for the show, so it’s always interesting to speculate what will be included this time, seeing as how there’s also a whole new album’s worth of material to choose from. We’ll soon find out!… Two extra gigs have been added to the schedule for December, at The Barlow Institute in Bolton on December 19th, and at the Normanby Hotel, Middlesbrough on December 22nd… Several of Jez’s recent radio interviews are currently on-line, and the half hour conversation with Roger Williams from Nottingham’s Trent Radio, a particularly enlightening chat, is at…. The Broonzies – the new “family band” featuring Jez Lowe and his “close relatives”, will make their live debut at Hexham’s Queen’s Hall on January 15th, followed by an appearance at the legendary Davy Lamp in Washington on January 31st.
