SONY ACADEMY AWARD WINNING SONGWRITER FROM COUNTY DURHAM

Bad Pennies turn up again…

Jez is back with The Bad Pennies this weekend, at The Frazer Theatre in Knaresborough North Yorh Yorkshire, on Friday, as part of the FEVA Festival. It’s only the band’s second gig of this year – all the members have been so busy with their other projects, that a sabbatical was the only viable option. It’s hoped that there’ll be more Bad Pennies shows in 2019, and of course this year’s Christmas tour is the biggest yet for the band… Jez is then with Steve Tilston (and Hugh Bradley on bass) on Sunday for the Saltburn Festival. The duo wowed audiences at Sidmouth Festival last weekend, and Jez’s workshop on his novel “The Dillen Doll” was a sell-out, and a huge success. We’re advised that if you can catch one of these book-related sessions, then it’s well-worth going along. There were readings from the book itself, several songs from the accompanying album played live, and a great deal of insight into how the project was put together. We’re sorry to have missed it! … There’s a new venue for the concert in Massachusetts on October 6th featuring Jez and James Keelaghan. It’s now at the Somerville Museum, across the river from Boston… No more news on that archive release from Tantobie Records that we recently heard about. We’re pretty sure though that it will see the light of day before the end of the year. The reason we’re betting on an “Honesty Box” reissue is that Jez has started to put songs from that 2002 album in his live set – IN MY TRADE, THE BIG FEAR, A SKIN TOO THIN and MATCHBOXES have all shown up in recent weeks. LONG IRON from that same album is a long-term regular song on the Tilston/Lowe live shows of course… Jez has done radio interviews for BBC Radio Kent, Dublin City Radio and Brooklands Radio in recent days. We’ll try and keep you informed on broadcast dates.
