BBC Folk Awards congrats… More Radio… New projects…

Twick picFollowing last week’s announcement that Jez had been nominated twice in the forthcoming BBC Folk awards, we were inundated with congratulations from audience members and fellow musicians from around the globe. Thanks to everyone who has contacted us. As the date of the awards ceremony gets closer, the momentum will no doubt pick up, but meanwhile Jez is carrying on as normal with live gigs around the UK, along with all the other various things that he’s currently involved with. There are murmurings of another Radio Ballads-style project in the offing, to run con-currently with the Ballad of the Great War (for which writing and recording is still going on – Jez had a writing collaboration with Martin Carthy a couple of weeks ago, for one of the upcoming programmes of the series!) but details of this new project are still under wraps. Jez has meetings this coming week to discuss it. More news as and when… Meanwhile Jez appears tonight (Monday) on Sounds of Folk on Oldham Community Radio 99.7FM, playing live in the studio, and a slot on Radio Newcastle tomorrow, time uncertain.
