Child Migration BBC Broadcast… Book news…

A live recording of one of last November’s Ballads Of Child Migration tour is due to be broadcast on Mark Radcliffe’s BBC Radio Two programme on Wednesday night – Jez performed FOUR songs at these concerts, and played and sang back-up throughout the show, but how many, if any, of Jez’s songs will be included is not known. Others featured on the concert are While and Matthews, John Doyle, O’Hooley and Tidow, Boo Hewerdine, John McCusker, Mike McGoldrick and Andy Seward. Barbara Dickson was the narrator... It has been announced that Jez’s second novel will launched at The Bookends Festival in Sedgefield, County Durham in October, after Jez returns from his September tour of the USA. The follow-up to The Dillen Doll, his first novel, published in 2017, will be published by Badapple Books. No title has yet been announced… Jez is back on the road in the UK this week. Last week’s shows included some notable choices of songs, including NEW TOWN INCIDENT, SHINEY ROW, HAD AWAY GAN ON, and COAL MOUTAIN, the last of these written for the last Pitmen Poets CD. On the GIGS page of this site, preliminary details of next September’s “Farewell Tour” by the Pitmen Poets have been added. Precise details of venues and show-times will follow soon.
