Jez gives us the “Head’s Up”…
September 2, 2012
The new issue of the UK folk magazine Stirrings has a full-page advert announcing the release of a new Jez Lowe compilation CD, called “Heads Up”, featuring “17 classic Jez Lowe songs”. There’s no release date or any clue as to what the 17 songs may be, but earlier today, on his Twitter page, Jez wrote that he had “relented” and decided that the very popular Monkey’s Revenge song, now officially titled The Simian Son, will be included on the album. We have also heard that in fact the CD will have EIGHTEEN, not seventeen tracks, so presumably the Monkey Song is a late addition. Anyway, we like the “Heads Up” title, being a cunning play on words, in England at least (giving someone “the heads up” means alerting in advance) with a subtle reference to a coin (penny). Meanwhile, we eagerly await the list of tracks.
