Jez radio interview… and more…
Jez was interviewed by Genevieve Tudor on her BBC Radio Shropshire folk music programme last weekend, talking extensively about his novel The Dillen Doll, and even reading a passage from it. Three excerpts from the CD were played and Jez even managed a live version of MY KEEL LAD to round it all off. You can hear the whole thing here for the next few weeks – http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p05smkv5
Jez is on BBC Radio Tees today (Tuesday) at 2pm, with more on the book and album, on the Bob Fischer Show.with more interviews coming up soon… There’s still been no live performances of any songs from the new album on Jez’s solo shows this year (apart from the afore-mentioned rendition of MY KEEL LAD and a sole BOBBY SHAFTO at Hexham a few weeks ago, both songs having been in his casual repertoire for a long time. He did mention on the radio programme that some sort of live performances based on the project were being considered for later in the year, but he didn’t go into specifics.
Jez’s UK festival appearances this year include Sidmouth, Broadstairs, Saltburn (all with Steve Tilston), Warwick, The Pig’s Ear Festival in Kent, Chester and Clennel Hall in Northumberland. Some new club dates have just been added to the LIVE DATES page on this website also. (Pic by Allan Price)
