July news… This summer and beyond…

Jez has been added to the bill of the Weybourne Folk Festival in Norfolk on Sunday afternoon, August 4th. He’s stepping in for Julie Felix who is unable to appear… The Bad Pennies are at The New Forest Folk festival this weekend, on Saturday afternoon this time, on main-stage… Looking a long way ahead, Jez will be songwriter in residence at Halsway Manor in Somerset for the “Give Voice!” weekend of folk-song hosted by Tom & Barbara Brown in 2020. The dates are October 30th to November 1st… Jez’s upcoming American trip starts on September 12th in Davis, California. He WILL have copies of his DILLEN DOLL book and CD for sale at theses US gigs, contrary to what we thought originally. The new novel will NOT be available in time for the tour, unfortunately… Jez will be back in Canada next year with James Keelaghan, on a substantial tour starting in late March 2020. It looks like being the first of several trips to North America for Jez next year, with summer festivals already being looked at… Those rumours about Fellside Records re-issuing a collection of Jez’s early recordings looklike actually coming to fruition. Word is that at least one CD will be released early in 2020… Other rumours we’ve heard being bandied about include talk of a new Pitmen Poets album to coincide with their Farewell Tour, another Bad Pennies Christmas Album for December (not sure about that one) but NO WORD on a new Jez Lowe solo album, despite it being FIVE YEARS since the release of “The Ballad Beyond”. We have had the joint album, “The Janus Game” with Steve Tilston in the meantime of course, but with new songs already in Jez’s solo set, surely it can’t be long before a new album comes our way?
