Keelowe Tour – USA and Canada
Jez joins forces with his long-time collaborator James Keelaghan in a few weeks, for a seventeen-date tour of the USA and Canada, beginning in Delaware on September 27th. It’s twenty years since the the two of them first got together, in Australia in 1998, and they’ve toured in tandem sporadically ever since, most recently along with Archie Fisher on the Men At Words tour. This time around they’re back as a duo, sharing the stage throughout the show with a selection of songs old and new. Tickets are already selling fast for all of these shows, and a follow-up tour is already being talked about for 2019, though again only in North America… Before all that, Jez still has a bunch of UK gigs, all solo, except for a duo set with Steve Tilston in Darlington, County Durham on September 6th. All of these gigs are in northern England, apart from a rare London appearance at Walthamstow Folk Club on September 16th… Jez was interviewed by Doug Welch on BBC Radio Kent last Sunday night (still available on the station website). It was a conversation recorded at the recent Sidmouth Festival, after Jez’s very successful workshop session about his novel The Dillen Doll. The interview is certainly worth a listen… Jez’s weekly column in the Northern Echo is back after a few weeks of confusion due to changes of staff at the newspaper. It’s always an entertaining read… The Tilston-Lowe appearance at Edinburgh Fringe last week certainly seemed to hit the spot, and the presence of celebrated Scots author Ian Rankin in the audience certainly turned a few heads! Jez later confessed to being “cheeky enough” to have given the great man a copy of his “Dillen Doll” novel after the show.
