“Lost” Lowe/Keelaghan live Australian tapes now on CD!
Recordings from a 2004 concert in Fremantle, Australia by Jez Lowe and James Keelaghan are now released on CD, to coincide with the pair’s current tour of Canada and the USA. The eleven-track album features a selection of songs from the original tapes of a show at the Fly By Night Club in Western Australia, which were originally broadcast by ABC Radio National. The tapes have been lost for the past decade and a half, and turned up earlier this year “in a dusty attic in Northern England”. Tracks are – HILLCREST MINE/BLACK DIAMONDS, MY SKIES, OLD BONES, SWEETGRASS MOON, THE BERGEN, WOODSMOKE AND ORANGES, A DREAM OF STEAM AND FREEDOM, MIRABEAU BRIDGE, DOVER DELAWARE, GLADYS RIDGE and YOU CAN’T TAKE IT WITH YOU. Rumours of an “archive release” from Tantobie Records have been circulating for some time, but this particular album has come somewhat out of the blue. At this point, it is only available for sale on the current US-Canadian tour that starts later this week. Whether it will get a wider release is not known at this point.
Please note that Friday’s show in Baltimore has had to be postponed due to unforeseen circumstances. It is hoped that it will be rescheduled at a later date.
