A CALL FOR THE NORTH COUNTRY

A CALL FOR THE NORTH COUNTRY
(J.Lowe / Lowe Life Music)

Good people come and gather round me,
Listen to me sing my song,
I’m a wind-blown seed in a land of greed,
Living with a dream gone wrong,
But some day, some say,
They’ll all be growing greener in the North Country.

I reckon there are them born lucky.
I tell you that it ain’t no lie,
I can’t even cross my heart for fear I’ll surely die.

I left my aged parents,
Living on tick and in trash,
Their house was sliding down a worked out seam,
They were waiting for the Coal Board Cash.

I once loved a woman in waiting,
She left me for a place on high,
Now she’s looking for the Great North Road,
And a twinkle in her old man’s eye.

One day I’ll get my mojo working,
Spitting on the horse-shoe ground,
You can’t do me harm with your hex and charm,
I’m walking the sun way’s round.
