News Updates…

There are some new links up on You Tube from Jez’s gig last week in North Shields, where he again performed some unusual songs from his repertoire, including THE SUN AND THE MOON AND ME and a new song so far untitled. None of these are included on the You Tube clips, but check them out at… Jez and the band were at Ely Festival last weekend, with Becky Taylor on pipes as Andy May was unavailable, and performed a set of older material, including TOM TOM, SUGAR WATER SUNDAY, GLAD RAGS AGAIN and THESE COAL TOWN DAYS… Jez was interviewed at the festival live on air by West Norfolk Radio, and confirmed that he and David De la Haye were working on a new LIVE album of solo performances, recorded at different gigs over the last year or so. But he added that he wasn’t sure if and when it would be released. More on this as and when we get it… Billy Mitchell posted on his own Facebook page earlier this week that there were plans for another Pitmen Poets UK tour in Autumn 2019! Jez also recently joked that the quartet had split up, but were looking forward to their reunion tour. We’ll keep you posted… Jez gig at Mercury Acoustic in Yeovil on August 3rd has been cancelled due to problems with the venue… Finally, we have just come across an amazing website which lists all of Jez’s recorded work, both as a performer in his own right and as a sessionplayer for other people. Check it out here and let us have any additions that you might know of!
