Jez is back out on the road this week, after a relatively quiet couple of months (Wonder what he’s been up to… Bet we can guess…) This week he’s at Newton Aycliffe, Bingham (which is already sold out), Purley on Thames, Rainford in Lancashire and Balerno near Edinburgh, all solo, then he’s off to the South West with Steve Tilston for some duo gigs. Full details on the LIVE DATES page at this website… On that page you’ll also find details of Jez’s American gigs in September with James Keelaghan. There’s a set of Canadian shows following these, into October, which will be listed here this week… James is playing some solo UK gigs next month, by the way… There’s a radio show and a TV slot on the cards for Jez early in May, in connection with the recent publication of his novel, THE DILLEN DOLL. Details soon… It’s over two years now since Jez was involved in the “Ballads of Child Migration” project, an off-shoot of the BBC Radio Ballads. There was one full live performance of these songs, with an all-star cast, at Celtic Connections in Glasgow, and then several songs were included in the BBC Folk Awards show last year. Now the full show is to be taken on tour in the UK in November, with most of the original cast intact, including Jez. The list of dates will be announced soon… Did you check out the little video clip, on the home-page of this site, for the track MARKET DAY, from the “Dillen Doll” CD? The song is the only one from the album in Jez’s current live set, by the way… The photo here, by the way, shows Jez with James Keelaghan and Kristina Olsen, and was probably taken at Cobargo Town Hall in New South Wales Australia, about ten years ago, when the three of them were doing shows together, following their collaboration in the UK on the Three Nations Tour. We thought it worth sharing, even though we don’t know who took the pic. Thanks anyway.
