News Updates…

Jez is heading to Warwick Folk Festival this weekend, via a solo show in Bromsgrove tonight, then he’s off to the South West of England for some gigs with Steve Tilston. They’ll end this stint together at Sidmouth Folk Festival on August 4th. At Sidmouth Jez will also be playing solo and doing a talk on his recent novel “The Dillen Doll”… A track from the “Dillen Doll” CD was played on BBC Folk on Two last week by Mark Radcliffe. It was Jez’s “rewrite” of BUY BROOM BEZZOMS, with Rachel Hamer and Benny Graham on backing vocals… We’re told that Jez’s recent appearance as presenter of BBC Radio 4’s “Open Country” programme will be available on the BBC I-player for the next twelve months, if you haven’t heard it yet!… Jez’s record label Tantobie are currently working on what is described as an “archive” recording, for release sometime in the future. Everyone’s being a little mysterious about it, but we’re still banking on it being the 2002 album “Honesty Box”, which has been unavailable for some years. But who knows? Watch this space… And watch out too for Jez’s new mandolin! He just took delivery of a new Fylde model last week, to match his guitar and cittern. (The pic here shows him with the guitar at Newport in South Wales two weeks ago)
