On the road this month!
Jez has just completed the first week of a long set of live shows – he’s been solo so far, but meets up with Steve Tilston this weekend for three shows in the West of England. Then he’s out solo once again, with his first festival of the year – at Folk on the Pier in Cromer – on Friday May 11th. That is an afternoon show by the way. There are festivals for the next four weekends for Jez, at Clennell Hall in Northumberland on May 19th, Chester on May 26th/27th, and at The Pig’s Ear festival in Kent on June 1st… Tantobie Records is planning a re-issue of one of Jez’s albums later this year. We assume it will be the long-awaited r-release of 2002’s album “Honesty Box”, which has been an “on again, off again” rumour for quite a few years. We notice that Jez is actually has been slipping in the odd song from the album at recent solo gigs, including THE BIG FEAR, IN MY TRADE and THE BALLAD OF TASKER JACK. It’s been a while since he did any of those, though they were staples of his set for a long time after the album was originally released. Hopefully, there’ll be some bonus tracks involved in the reissue. Watch this space… Sales of “The Dillen Doll”, both the book and the CD, continue to astound everyone at Tantobie and Badapple Books. Jez is due to record a radio special on the book in the next couple of weeks. We’ll have details of that on this page as soon as we can.
