Pitmen Poets in the studio…

Jez is currently in Northumberland, where The Pitmen Poets are working on a new album, to be released in time for the quartet’s UK tour that starts in September. The album will include a selection of the band’s most requested songs, recorded live on the last tour, plus half a dozen newly recorded tracks. This will include a brand-new Jez Lowe song, written specially for the group… Jez has been invited to appear at a special “Miners Picnic” to take place in his hometown of Easington on August 24th. The whole event will be filmed by Tyneside company Amber Films as part of a project they have been working on for some time, about the former mining communities in East Durham. Jez’s slot will be on the Saturday afternoon. More news on the film when we have it… This weekend Jez is still in Northumberland, to play at the Rothbury Folk Festival, and then he moves on to play at The Bothy Folk Club in Southport on Sunday… Still no announcement about the title of Jez’s new book, his second novel, which is due to be published in October. It seems that ther title will be witheld until the final artwork is approaved. Keep an eye on this website, as this is where you’ll hear about it first… There have been some adjustments to the SHOP page on this site – some titles are currently unavailable until stock is moved from America to the UK – and titles affected by this include WOTCHEOR, TENTERHOOKS and DOOLALLY. However, you can now obtain the first Pitmen Poets CD from us once again. Hopefully the afore-mentioned new release will also be on sale here too.
