Three Tilston-Lowe Festival Shows…And more news…

Jez teams up with Steve Tilston again this coming weekend, for a concert at Broadstairs Festival in Kent on Friday afternoon, and then the duo will be joined by Hugh Bradley on bass and Chris Parkinson on keyboards for a one-off show by “The Sometimes” at Whitby Festival on Sunday night. Then they’re off to Edinburgh for the Fringe Festival – their third appearance there – at the Acoustic Music Centre at the UCC on Royal Terrace, on Wednesday at 8.30pm. Apart from a duo show at The Copper Beech in Darlington on September 6th, these will be the last Tilston/Lowe gigs until November, and judging by last weekend’s concerts at Saltburn and the recent Sidmouth Festival show, the lads are on top form. Catch them while you can… Jez’s next collaboration will be with James Keelaghan, reviving a partnership that has been happening sporadically for the last twenty years. This time they’re in the United States and Canada, starting on September 27th. Full details on the LIVE DATES page of this site… Jez has solo dates in early September in the UK, including his final festival of the year, at Sedgefield on September 1st… Tickets are on sale now for The Bad Pennies Christmas tour, which begins on November 30th. The band announced this week that, as well as special guest Benny Graham as usual, Kari MacLeod will be back with the band on fiddle for the tour, standing in for Kate Bramley who’ll be busy with her Badapple Theatre work… Not only is Kari the artist behind the painting on the cover of Jez’s novel and CD “The Dillen Doll”, but she has also been announced as the new member of The Mile Roses, alongside Kate Bramley and Simon Haworth. The new line-up start gigs in the UK next month… Things are also hotting up for the Ballads of Child Migration tour in November, with an all-star cast that will include most of the singers and players on the album. There’s also a special Radio Ballads finale on BBC Radio Two on November 9th, which will have songs from Jez and the other performers backed by the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra! More news soon.
