The recent UK tour by The Pitmen Poets was a big success, and it’s no surprise that another tour is already being planned for 2027. Despite being reduced to a trio, almost all the concerts were near to full, and the tribute to ailing missing member Benny Graham was well received by everyone. Copies of the live album “Burning Bright” are now available mail-order from this website…

Jez has a couple of gigs lined up with Steve Tilston in September, commemorating ten years since their occasional partnership first began. They have a warm-up gig near Hebden Bridge at the end of the month, before heading off to Costa Del Folk Festival in Portugal a week later. They’ll be joined by Steve’s bassist Hugh Bradley at both shows…

Also in September, there’s a flower festival at the former Ushaw college near Durham, one feature of which will be “Experience The Sound of the North East” in flowers. This includes a special display inspired by Jez Lowe’s songs and the history of his hometown of Easington. “Flowers by Lisa” is the name of the company behind this, and Jez is understandably very flattered by being included in this way…

The Bad Pennies will be joining Jez at this year’s Otley Festival in Yorkshire, their only festival appearance this year…

Jez’s show at this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe takes place on August 15th, and is another of his “Life Writing” presentations, this time focusing on his latest novel “The Bow String Wager”…

Jez is returning to Whitby Folk Festival in August, the first time for quite a few years. He’ll be playing at various venues during a two day stay on the 23rd and 24th weekend…

After a very busy two month stint of solo gigs throughout the UK during September and October, Jez returns to Canada at the beginning of November for a twelve date tour with James Keelaghan, concentrating mainly in the west of the country, Alberta and British Columbia. However, Jez has also snuck in a rare solo gig on the way home, at South Simcoe in Ontario on November 18th. Details on this and all other live shows are on the LIVE DATES page of this website.
