Patreon is an on-line community in which people can become patrons of their favourite artist or musician, to help and encourage them in their creative work, while having access to rare and exclusive recordings, video-clips, concerts and writings, as well as a personal connection to the artist via messages and on-line conversation.
Jez Lowe has now started his own Patreon project, with all-inclusive access (rather than a graduated “tier” system dependant on rate of contributions by the patron), that will focus on writing (his songs and novels), performance (exclusive archive recordings, archive video and on-line concerts) and workshops (guitar and cittern techniques and tunings and writing focuses). There will also be regular blogs and updates and an end of the year special for everyone involved.
The primary motivation for this is to maintain a contact with friends and supporters all around the world, not just in the current circumstances, but one which can hopefully develop longterm and be rewarding for all.
