Happy New Year to all our readers! 2012 proved to be an eventful year for Jez, and the coming twelve months promise to be equally exciting. There’s the Pitmen Poets tour in March for a start, and we can promise you news of another rekindled collaboration later this year, when Jez joins forces with Canadian songwriter James Keelaghan for a series of concerts in America, the first time the two have performed together for nearly ten years! There are also whispers of another BBC Radio Ballads series in the offing towards the end of this year. Jez’s touring schedule is as busy as ever, starting with UK dates next week. Meanwhile, there’s a batch of radio slots to mention – Jez has just done an interview with Gary Hogg for his “Geordie Hour” feature which is widely syndicated, both on-line and on community radio channels, and full details of broadcast times will be forthcoming. Alan Ritson at Lincoln City Radio 103. FM interviewed Jez last week for his show, and this will be repeated via Siren FM on February 1st and 3rd. Finally, Jez is included on BBC Radio Leeds two-hour special based on Maggie Boyle’s Kitchen Songs series from last summer. That show went out last Sunday and is currently available via the Radio Leeds Listen Again feature.
