The “Snowed In!” Christmas tour got off to a fine start last weekend in deepest Nottinghamshire, with a show that included more than its fair share of surprises. Three brand new songs in the zany tradition of these annual revues, plus a dip back into Jez’s past repertoire, including one that as far we know had never been performed by the band before, as well as some new offerings from special guest Benny Graham.
The tour resumes this week, with concerts at Belton Village Hall (7th) and Harmston Memorial Hall (8th), proceeding to shows in Chesterfield and Worcester, then on to Bradford and Humberside before hitting North East England. Full details on the LIVE DATES page of this website…
Jez was with The Pitmen Poets at The Great British Folk Festival last weekend, (see pic below) for a show-stopping appearance before several thousand folkies, that didn’t include any new offerings from the quartet’s forthcoming new CD, but was a great gig nonetheless. The new CD will be available mail-order next week, so we’ll have details then…
Jez and Steve Tilston are preparing a promo-video for their “Janus Game” album, which should be up and viewable in a couple of weeks. The duo’s tour UK tour starts in March at the Buxton Opera House (17th). The music press and folk radio in the UK are currently running coverage of the new album and the collaboration of these two award-winning singer-songwriters…
Meanwhile, Jez will be joining forces with Maggie Holland, Chris Parkinson and Roger Wilson for a series of concerts by The Broonzies, the first gigs that the band has done since the change in line-up last year. They have a series of village-hall concerts in the Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire region, starting at Hollingwood Hub near Chesterfield on March 8th. See our gig-list page for details…
