As September starts, Jez is gearing up for a solo tour of the USA starting on September 12th in California, then taking him east to New York State and beyond for the rest of the month. Full details of times and tickets are on the Live Dates page of this site… Before all that, he has two festivals in Northern England to play at, Sedgefield on September 6th and Settle on September 7th. Andy May from The Bad Pennies is also on the Settle bill, so some sort of collaboration is expected… Meanwhile, Jez’s new novel, “The Corly Croons” is on schedule for publication in October. Advance orders for the new book will be starting soon – watch this space for further news on that… While we wait for a new Jez Lowe album to be released, there have been rumours about reissues of past albums for some time. We can now confirm that Fellside Records, for whom Jez recorded six albums in the 1980s and 1990s, are planning a box-set collection of ALL of Jez’s recording for them, to be released in early 2020, forty years since the release of his very first solo album in 1980. There have been discussions between Jez and Fellside boss Paul Adams for over a year now about this, but we were told to keep it to ourselves until a definite decision was made. Jez and Paul met up again just three weeks ago, and final decisions were made. Apart from that debut solo album, we can also expect “The Old Durham Road”, “Galloways”, “Bad Penny”, “Briefly on the Street” and “Bede Weeps”, possibly with bonus tracks included. More details about this are expected soon.
