Jez and the band have one more Christmas show this year – at Gateshead’s Sage on December 27th, and there’s still a few tickets left! This year’s mini-tour (a mere five shows), has been so successful that it seems likely that the tour will be extended next year, and that some sort of Christmas album may also be on the cards – Jez announced this as a possibility at last night’s gig in Northumberland. As 90% of the show is completely different from anything The Bad Pennies do for the rest of the year, it would be great to get some of this stuff on a CD. The regular “pantomime” finale, for example, would work great as an audio/radio segment. The “beach party” theme also worked very well, with a couple of great parodies of songs by a well-known band of surfing brothers… All in all, this seems to have been a very different sort of Christmas shows to the many others currently touring around the folk music scene. We hope you’ll get a chance to hear/see it at some point. Happy Christmas!
