Details of the new CD “Miner’s Angel – A tribute to Mother Jones”, which features a star-studded line-up including Tom Russell, Andy Irvine, Utah Philips, Billy Bragg, Gretchen Peters, Gene Autry (!) and Jez Lowe ( the live version of THESE COAL TOWN DAYS from “Live at The Davy Lamp”) can be found here – http://minersangel.com/musicians-and-songs/ – it’s an American release… According to the Men At Words Facebook page, the Fisher/Keelaghan/Lowe trio will be playing in Scotland next year! More details to follow… The new CD of songs about forced child migration, “On Our Own” is due for release next month, and production mixes of Jez’s four songs have been heard, full band arrangements with drums, bass, backing vocals, fiddle, accordeon and flute. The studio musicians were John McCusker, Andy Seward and Andy Cutting, with backing vocals from Coope Boyes and Simpson, While and Matthews and O’Hooley and Tidow… Watch out for a TV appearance by The Pitmen Poets, which Jez filmed earlier this week. The programme, planned for local network TV, is called “Cooking in the Kitchen”, and should appear around the country in early September.
