NEWS UPDATES – and who or what are The Broonzies?

There’s a late addition to the tour schedule, a solo show for Jez at The Spectrum Centre in Willington, County Durham on July 26th. Jez has also been added to the bill of Whitby Folk Festival, with solo appearances on August 22nd. The Bad Pennies appear at Sevenoaks Festival in Kent on Thursday of this week (June 26th), and at Cleckheaton Festival on July 4th… Meanwhile, there’s some head-scratching going on around the UK folk scene, regarding fleeting on-line appearances of The Broonzies, with pictures and references popping up here and there before vanishing, but clearly showing Jez Lowe’s involvement. It’s not clear exactly what this is – a band, an album, a theatre production…?
