With the next Pitmen Poets tour set to begin in June, one of the quartet’s earlier albums has been made available for download for the first time, via Bandcamp. Their fourth release “Bare Knuckle” can be found here https://thepitmenpoets.bandcamp.com/album/bare-knuckle
either as an entire album or as individual tracks.
Meanwhile it looks like there will be a new Pitmen Poets release to coincide with the tour, a live album of old favourites and more recent additions to their vast repertoire, and featuring the full line-up including Benny Graham, who unfortunately won’t be available for the tour itself due to current medical issues.
Watch out also for an interview with Jez about The Pitmen Poets in the May/June issue of UK music magazine R & R (formerly Rock and Reel).

A further reminder – On March 22nd, there’s a fund-raising show at Green Hammerton near York for Badapple Theatre, showcasing many of the songs that Jez has written for their productions over the years, and performed by many of the original actors who featured in the shows. Details from the Badapple website at https://www.badappletheatre.co.uk

The Bad Pennies scheduled appearance at Tredegar House Festival in May has been cancelled, along with the whole festival, due to issues with the site’s availability this year. It’s hoped that the event, including The Bad Pennies, will be rescheduled in 2027.

Jez has two solo shows coming up in the London area soon – at Walthamstow’s Ye Old Rose and Crown folk club on March 15th and at Croydon’s Ruskin House on May 11th. A solo gig at Nether Edge Bowling Club in Sheffield has also just been added for May 20th.

As previously reported, Jez is back at Edinburgh Fringe on August15th, for another in his series of “Life Writing” concerts, this time highlighting songs old and new plus readings from his new novel, details of which will be announced in May, prior to its publication in Mid-June. Advance ordering of the book will be available on this website at around that same time.

Recent additions to Jez’s PATREON site include exclusive videos and recordings of some of the new songs that Jez is including in his current live set, along with information on his guitar tunings and features on some of his older, rarer songs.  You can sign up for more information, and three years worth of exclusive features, here – http://patreon.com/u53978553
