Jez’s Patreon page, details of which (and how to sign up) can be found at the top of this page, has been somewhat revamped, and now offers membership for £5 per month (or overseas equivalent), half the price of what it has been up to now. Jez felt that now he was back on the road doing live gigs, the original point of the Patreon project (i.e. to keep in touch with people that he wasn’t seeing at gigs and on tour) was now somewhat redundant, but he still wanted to be able to share special stuff with people who were interested in his work. What special stuff? Well, as well as exclusive workshop videos and song-writing discussions, he’s shared a bunch of unreleased recordings such as demos for The Radio Ballads songs, archive concert clips, works-in-progress and more. The list of songs include exclusive versions of JEMMY BUTTON, THE WALTZER, SPARROW, CLEVELAND IRON, HARDANGER ANGEL, BETWEEN HERE AND HEAVEN, THE CHOCTAW TELEPHONE, PAULU SALU, ELEPHANT ROCK, and a 1991 accapella recording of GALLOWAYS by the original Bad Pennies. There are exclusive video performances by The Pitmen Poets, Jez Lowe and Steve Tilston and of course The Bad Pennies (a great film from 2007 of the band doing SONS OF THE CENTURY appeared a couple of weeks ago), and the first part of a video trip around parts of his hometown that have helped inspire some of his songs was another recent addition. There’s much more to come, and now te nominal price makes it more than worthwhile…
On Thursday January 27th, you can hear a special radio feature wherein Jez talks about some of his songs and how they were written in an exclusive interview with presenter Stuart Green. It goes out at 3pm on https://www.bluesandrootsradio.com with a repeat at 11pm the following Monday. It’s also scheduled on Stuart’s other affiliated staions throughout the week…
Jez will be joining forces with Steve Tilston again in early May for a few special concerts in Cambridge, Beccles and Otley. The pair will be also at the Gate to Southwell Festival in July, Jez’s first appearance at that event since 2010…
