“Real Live” gigs on the horizon?… More…

The music scene in the UK seems cautiously optimistic about live music re-starting as we’re told that the worst of the pandemic is over. Jez has a number of shows lined up (see the LIVE DATES page on this site), starting at the back end of May, and so he’s decided that the next “Last Sunday of the Month” on-line concert via his Facebook page will probably be the last for the time being. It’s scheduled for Sunday May 30th at 8pm UK time, and will be another “deep dive” into the Jez Lowe catalogue of songs. As usual, please send requests to jez@jezlowe.com and he’ll try to include as many as possible… Jez has done a couple of Zoom concerts already this week, for folk club meetings in Highworth and Reading. His set-list stuck to his more well-known songs, plus a few songs from the latest CD “Crazy Pagan”, including FARMER SUN, LOUISA’S CHOOSING, TIME RICH CASH POOR, SHAKING MONTY and THIS IS NOT MY TRIBE. There was also a rare outing for DOVER DELAWARE as a request. His next Zoom concert is for the Wirral Folk Festival on June 5th…
Jez was recently invited to be part of a feature called “Three Track Challenge” on Phoenix FM’s monthly folk music show, broadcasting to the South Yorkshire and Derbyshire area and on-line. This programme is now available here – http://www.phoenixfm.co.uk/podcasts-roving-folk 
The three tracks that Jez chose (and talks about extensively) are “P Stands For Paddy” by Planxty, “Fourth Time Around” by Bob Dylan and “Excursion a Venise” by Kate and Anna McGarrigle. Jez also talks about the recording and writing of his own new album, “Crazy Pagan”. All in all a worthwhile listen…
Jez’s Patreon page continues to expand. Recent additions include an unreleased 2010 live version of Jez’s “Darwin Project” song JEMMY BUTTON,  plus a written piece celebrating what would have been his mother’s 100th birthday, and a video presentation where Jez talks about the writing of one of his songs, the inspiration, construction, guitar tuning and development.
