The Pitmen poets at Chippenham festival on Monday was a great show. As well as wonderful singing it was also informative. My husband is from a very long line of coal miners in Barnsley. His great great grandfather was involved in the Oaks disaster of 1866 & was murdered for what he knew about it. We have his story written by his widow, it is truly heartbreaking.

Thanks again for a wonderful night’s entertainment at Balerno Folk Club on 29 March 2016. It was great to have you back there again and as always you were on top form. Hope to catch up with you at Edinburgh Festival in August. Any Folk Club Secretary that fails to book you is doing their Club a great disservice. ‘Lang may your lum reek!
